Looking to realise your international dreams? Be it study or work, IELTS has become an almost inseparable part of the Go Abroad scene. It is undeniably one of the most robust, secure, and dependable test of English. So, what is the right way to prepare for the test?
There are two variants of the IELTS test. The Academic (AC) and the General(GT). If you plan to study abroad, you take the IELTS Academic Test, and if you are planning to migrate, you take the General Training (GT) test. If you are not sure about what you want to do, you can always take both. There is nothing stopping you from preparing for both and taking both tests. The patterns are incredibly similar.
A common question that comes up is, there is so much free IELTS material online, do I need coaching for IELTS? The answer is both no and yes. But if you want a clear answer, there are two things you could do. The first is to get an idea of what the test is all about. And we do not just mean the pattern of the test, we are talking about taking a full test. Taking a free sample mock test of IELTS is a good place to begin!
This will give you an idea of how the test is. Since we at First Academy also give you a detailed writing evaluation, you will get a very clear picture of where you stand and an understanding of whether or not you need training.
If the test is not enough, you could always attend an open session for IELTS to see how the trainers are and also to see if you need training. This is one of the best ways to get into the IELTS scene. In the free IELTS session You can talk to the trainers, you can ask questions, and get a feel of how the training is and a fair idea of whether you need to enroll for training.
The Writing section in IELTS is where people score much lower than what they expect. This is because there is a lot of bad advice floating around. Most people giving writing advice have themselves never taken a test or have not received great scores. One way to understand what to and how to write is by looking at 9 band writing samples that gives you a clear idea of how to write.
If now, at First Academy, we have the best writing classes. Our sessions have seen scores go up by over 1 band in a week. Attending a free session will tell you how a session by a Cambridge certified trainer is different from all other sessions.
Some of the best things in life are free. At First Academy, we have some awesome free material for IELTS and language in general. From listening to word use to speaking to writing, these tests cover all areas of language and aim to give you a great understanding of how language skills are acquired.
