What is the one-skill retake test?

IELTS One Skill Retake allows you to retake one of the four sections (Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking). This will save you the burden of preparing for the entire test, if you have missed out your score in only one section.

What is the cost of the IELTS one-skill retake test?

The IELTS one-skill retake is expected to cost 10,800 rupees. There might be changes in the prices as we go along. But as of September 2023, the pricing is expected to be around INR 10,800. This is the pricing for India. In other regions, the pricing might vary.

Can I re-take only one section of the test?

If you have low scores in two sections or two modules of the test, you may not be eligible to take the one-skill retake test. This test is only if you get a low score in one section or module of the IELTS test. If you need to improve your score in two ore more sections, you will have to retake the entire test.

Do all universities accept the score?

As of now, universities are not familiar with the one-skill retake. But as time goes on, all the universities that accept IELTS score are expected to accept the one-skill retake scores too. Officially, IELTS has not yet released a list of universities accepting the score. Unofficially, most universities in Australia have begun to accept the score.

Does my university or does my employer accept the one-skill score?

Ideally, they should accept it. If you are in doubt, please write to the university or the organisation before spending your money on the test. When can I take the test?

You must take the one-skill retake test if you satisfy the following three conditions:

• you have completed a full test at a centre that offers One Skill Retake
• your full test was a computer test
• you take the test within 60 days of your full IELTS test

Remember, you should take the one-skill test within 60 days of your actual IELTS test.
